glitter and butterflies!

There are some days when I have magical powers.

Like, today, I told [livejournal.com profile] shetiger to write me 200 words of Tony & Abby? And she totally did. \o/

I have also developed the ability to make proto-porn appear on my flash drive. See, I carry my WIPs to and from work on a flash drive (well, technically, I have of late been using my iPod as my flash drive, since it's got a back-up of my flash drive files on it, and wow, LJ really, really had no interest in that degree of precision, stfu). I'm using the acronym "WIP" liberally, since I hadn't messed with some of these files since, like, October or November.

I have therefore been having the fun experience of opening up files, reading stuff I totally would not have been able to recall that I had written, and saying this kind of thing to myself (or [livejournal.com profile] shetiger):

"Hey, that's the 'blowjob in the evidence locker' fic."
"Hey, that's the five ways fic with sex under the staircase."
"Hey, I totally don't remember where that fic was going. *reads* Oh, yeah, if that's not totally going to the porn place, the author's an idiot."

Not to mention the "Dude, that's kind of funny!" and "Y'know, I think that's all but finished, and I think I never actually bothered to post it anywhere. Oops." fics. I'm about half delighted and half bemused at me.

Um, hi. I'm actually writing a little bit again, and the happiness making me goofy. Please to go on about your day.

Oh, and here's some Boy for your troubles:

The Boy: you're going to be shocked by this, but it's impossible to find a cool, not-too-religious first communion card
The Boy: so I got a crappy highly-religious one instead. but it's got glitter and butterflies. best I could do.

You just can't go wrong with glitter and butterflies, man. *g*

Also, writing? Always good.

I am mighty, I tell you! ... Until it wears off.

Writing IS good! I was afraid I'd forgotten how, utterly and completely.

You know, somehow I'm not surprised by not being able to find a non-religious first communion card. (grin)

Easter eggs of porn. Only you, darlin'.

I know! But religious ones coming from us just feel terribly hypocritical, y'know? *g*

The best part about finding the porn-ster eggs is that, since I don't remember the process of writing them, I can just enjoy stuff that was, y'know, specifically tailored to my tastes. Hee!

I am so not surprised that you have flash drive backups. I now have an entire hard disk all to myself for MY stuff. Since my stuff tends to be in really big chunks, I figure it's safer if it's not on the main drive. Which makes backups go much quicker. I've been opening moldly files myself, although I usually say something like "I wrote this?"

Do communion cards come in non-religious flavors?

(BTW, I caught MY boy watching a movie the other day about a single woman raising her love child with her gay male best friend. There may be hope for him yet...)

The flash drive back-ups are crucial--unfinished fic is what it would totally kill me to lose, y'know?

(We were looking for non-religious because The Boy and are really--aren't, and we feel creepy and hypocritical giving religious cards. I know, we have such issues...)

Oh, good on him! *hopes for you*

Anniversary cards are also hard to find like that.

And bereavement cards.

[identity profile] kageygirl.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Bereavement cards I can totally see. I'm not sure I've had that problem with anniversary cards? But then again, I can't remember the last time I bought an anniv. card... (The Boy and I just give presents like DVDs, because we are ALL ROMANTIC like that. *g*)

[identity profile] miera-c.livejournal.com 2007-05-04 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well I have a bunch of people I have to send anniversary cards to. I mean, imagine trying to buy an anniversary card for a couple like yourself and The Boy. Sappy schmappy "twu wuv" cards? Not gonna do it. and the humorous ones are usually black humor about not murdering each other. It's a pain in the ass.

[identity profile] kageygirl.livejournal.com 2007-05-04 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hee. I have been known to give particularly sappy cards to friends of mine who I knew would gag at them, just because we'd all find it funny. I'm not always such a good person. *g*

I - love the Boy. A whole damn lot. Him picking out a glitter and butterfly card is a WONDERFUL mental image. Just - ♥

I know! I haven't even seen the card yet. I am very psyched. *bg*

(I have pictures of him at the... tulip garden. With--the tulips. *giggles*)

Writing always tends to make me rather giddy myself. Oh the art. Plus porn is alllllways good. :D
ext_2331: (Default)

[identity profile] kageygirl.livejournal.com 2007-05-04 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Porn is very good. (Best if I can get other people to write it for me, but if I have to do it myself, it's good to be able to write. *g*)

[identity profile] smackalalala.livejournal.com 2007-05-05 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that is the truth. I much prefer the porn I don't have to write, but if I HAVE to write it, I will. :D

[identity profile] thepouncer.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Glitter and butterflies make everything better!

So does you writing again. Yay! *hugs*
ext_2331: (martin wood god)

[identity profile] kageygirl.livejournal.com 2007-05-04 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
The Boy wants me to clarify that the card is for our niece, hence the glitter and butterflies. That would not be his own aesthetic preference. *g*

*hugs* Very yay! Thanks, hon!

[identity profile] dessert-first.livejournal.com 2007-05-04 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I must join the chorus with the "Yay, writing!" outcry. What a wonderful, happy-making thing. And little Easter eggs of practically-new-to-you fic written specifically for your tastes... what a treat!

Thanks again for making me feel so welcome at MJ, by the way. It was very kind of you, and you all did a marvelous job of putting the con together.

Oh, thank you! It was really great to meet you. I'm SO glad you had a good time--we had a lot of fun putting it together, and everyone who came made it a fantastic time. (And it was so cool that you came all the way up to Boston! In March! Man, I really miss the weather in Miami, especially in winter...)
