Things of the random:
1) Tonight's SGA ep is the rerun of "The Defiant One!" We've got: Armporn. Gunporn. Angst. Explosions. CleverSneaky!Sheppard. Worried!McKay. Canon acknowledgement of the Big Gay Love. (Yeah, tell me it's not. *g* Oh, twice, actually--I'm counting the conversation with Elizabeth at the beginning, too.) Rodney's new duds. John's naked ankles. (Okay, granted, they don't do much for me, but I suspect some of y'all like them.) John getting dirty (which does a hell of a lot for me). Radio!Snark, which I think is second only to Radio!Sex. Physical and emotional hurting. The only thing missing is the comfort (and man, is it ever missing), but that's what fanfic is for, no? *g* Did I leave anything out?
And I'm gonna miss it! The first showing, at least. Today is Commencement Day at The Institute, and a friend of ours is coming in from out-of-town (they do a thing for the round-numbered reunion classes--this is his tenth year out), and we're going to see a movie, or just go drinking, or summat. I love him dearly, and I'm so happy to see him, but there's a tiny, awful part of me that's going to miss not seeing the TDO rerun. Yes, I have the ep downloaded. Yes, I have it on TiVo. Yes, it'll be on again at 1am. Yes, I've seen it far too many times. These things do not affect my point in any meaningful way.
b) So, as those of y'all with gmail know, gmail has little text advertising blurbs that pop up based on the content of your messages, right? So, uh, I got penguin-related ads. One of which was for The Penguin Place, which has a truly astonishing array of penguin-related merchandise for sale.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kyrdwyn and I were looking around there, and she found a penguin porn coffee mug.
And I said we'd definitely have to share that with our fellowpervs penguin enthusiasts.
There's also a nice little romantic penguin lovers mug, for those times when you need something that can sit on your desk at work and be all socially acceptable, and all your coworkers can say, aww, look at the cute penguins, while you think to yourself, gay penguin sex.
It's possible that by "you," I mean "me."
ETA: Penguin salt shakers. I am reliably informed that the one on the left is John, and the one on the right is Rodney. *g*
Oh, and iii), yet another reason I'm going to hell. A report on the US criticizing our allies for not fighting human trafficking (which, totally bad, don't get me wrong) includes the following lines:
The State Department downgraded Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to the lowest level of compliance in the report, which evaluates countries' efforts in fighting the trafficking of thousands of people forced into servitude or the sex trade every year.
Victims in the region were mainly domestic servants and laborers but also included boy camel jockeys, according to the report.
"Boy camel jockeys" and "sex trade" are way, way too close together for my warped mind. Actually, I was probably doomed just by "boy camel jockeys."
I'll be over here, warming my toes by the flames of Perdition. And writing porn. Or is that redundant?
