Someone is a cranky puppy dog today, so she's lost her privileges to post personal stuff. (She also owes a ton of emails and comments to people, due to certain RL events that are going undiscussed, but she's not allowed to do that until she goes home and has a drink, because otherwise she might be cranky via email, which is so not right.)

Instead, cranky meta! *g*

On Friday, I was at the most godawful unholy boring conference (did I get to go to the Harvard Law thingie on digital copyright? No, despite working for Big John U. Bastards.) Instead, I was in a ballroom in Worcester with 275 technical services librarians. I did this to stay awake, as my boss was sitting right next to me.

Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] katie_m's kickin' Moebius diagram (though I didn't have it in front of me when I did this, nor had I looked at it since she posted, so yo soy tres amused that it came out so similar): Moebius 1&2 diagram, but with added SGA implications.

Clean version of diagram:

This was all off the top of my head, so despite personal freaky detailedness, there may be small errors (gee, I hope "small"), since more of this is SG-1 than SGA. *g*

In the beginning, there was Universe_A. Which goes on its merry way until we hit SGA's "Before I Sleep", wherein everyone sent to Atlantis dies a horrible watery death in 2004(ish). Except for Weir_A, Shep_A and Zelenka_A, who hop in TimeJumper_A and inadvertently end up in orbit over Planet Atlantis in 8000 B.C. ... And promptly get blowed out of the sky.

Janus scrapes them out of the Jumper, brings back Weir_A 'cause he doesn't realize both Shep_A and Zelenka_A are hotter. Weir_A goes into deep freeze, and Janus goes to Earth with his buddies and his big dreams of making another TimeJumper (since the other Ancients are already all over his ass, I doubt he could have snuck the dripping remnants of TJ_A through the gate.

Uni_B is created. (well, was created at the point of the time jump, anyway.)

Uni_B is The Story So Far, what we've been watching all along, which proceeds as seen until the time of "Moebius 1." SG1_B hops into TJ_B (which they found in "It's Good to be King"), and pop back to 3000 B.C., where they immediately create Uni_C (the Moebiusverse) but don't know it yet. Get ZPM_C, seal it in the tomb.

As that timeline progresses forward and becomes Uni_C, TJ_B is discovered and hauled to Cheyenne Mountain, and eventually ZPM_C and the vidcamera(_B) are found and this sets off the fun (heh) of the latter part of "Moebius 1" and "Moebius 2."

SG1_C and associated staff-weapon fodder hop in TJ_B and go to Chulak, grab Teal'c_C, lose Daniel_C, and despite how seriously they've screwed the pooch to date, go back to, uh, sometime after 3000 B.C. (did they say how long it'd been? I forget). Boom, and we have Uni_D.

Where we should have two TimeJumper_Bs, because it would have to still be there to get to SGC_C in 5000 years. Details, details.

Jack_C, Sam_C, Teal'C_C, and Daniel_B have their incredibly depressing AU adventures, apparently (if they're smart) scatter TJ_B's parts across the desert (both of them), and die in obscurity. Fast-forward hand-wiggling later, SG1_D gets ZPM_C as a "sorry we fucked the universe" gift from SG1_B/C, and go fishing.

Yeah, kagey, we know all that... But what happens in Atlantis?

Well, here we break out the big AU Magic 8-Ball, your mileage may vary.

Uni_A: There is no TimeJumper in the past, so SG1_A never gets a ZPM_A. Either Prometheus or Daedalus eventually shows up in Pegasus (remember, Prometheus was heading out there in "Prometheus Unbound,"), but all the expedition members are long since drowned. Maybe they find some flotsam on the tide, if any of the parts of sunken crushed Atlantis are bouyant enough to float. (Happy Monday, everyone! Wow, I suck.)

Uni_B: SG1_B never returns. Atlantis_B is fucked. Everett and his Marines don't show up to stop the self-destruct at the end of "Siege 1," and the expedition flees through the gate. If you're an optimist, Rodney yanks the control crystal out (as in "Home") and takes it with him, and possibly the team finds a ZPM somewhere and has the resources to hook it up the the gate and dial home... Okay, even I'm not really buying that. They probably end up somethere between [livejournal.com profile] maching_monkey's Another Morning and [livejournal.com profile] troyswann's post-"Siege 2" snippets. Are the Wraith headed for Earth, as well?

Uni_C: Moebiusverse, and so many possibilities for wiggle room. They didn't even have a gate until they dug up the Antarctic one, so there was no original Atlantic_C expedition. On the one hand, SG1_C never returns, SGC_C must be wicked skeptical about having sent out a team that never returns, who knows if they keep exploring? No Jack_C, no Daniel_C, probably no Ancient head-grabber, no Proklarush Taonas ("Lost City 1&2"). But! They have their very own ZPM_C, that they got from the tomb with vidcamera_C.

Questions, questions, questions. They found the Antarctic gate; do they find the Antarctic outpost? Do they find it before Apophis_C's ships show up? Do they figure out they need an ATA gene carrier to operate the defenses? Do they figure out squat-all about Atlantis from their position several years behind the Stargate-travel learning curve? If they do make it to Atlantis, will OldWeir_C (timeline fragments after she's popsicled) live long enough to tell them anything? Will the ZPMs in Atlantis have run out before they get there, sending the city to the surface? Will the few Wraith who are awake take potshots at it, or would they even check, if they'd had no contact for 10,000 years? Without the time pressure of drowning, would they still pick Athos to start their explorations?

Uni_D: By necessity, this is the SGA universe we've been watching. At the beginning of "Siege 2," Everett and company (or is that platoon? *g*) show up in Atlantis, courtesy of ZPM_C, which is loaded aboard Daedalus and send chugging along to Pegasus.

Original notes from conference, just for fun (there are parts where I tried to figure out how to account for "2010" from our POV, and also notes here and there that say things like "SGA=fucked (no ZPM)", etc. The scribbled-out part at the top is where I theorized that "Before I Sleep" didn't have to come first, then realized I was wrong.):

Please to be whapping me with the big whapping stick for any logical faults or canon errors. *g*

Ooh, the head of reference just coerced me into eating expensive chocolate. The day, she looks up...
