::kagey naps, wakes up, drifting...::
brain: Beckett/Zelenka.
kagey: ... the fuck?
brain: Beckett/Zelenka!
kagey: ... are you high? Have they even talked to each other in canon?
brain: ( minor Siege 2 spoiler! ) Besides, when you wrote the other thing, they hadn't even done that.
kagey: ::arm across eyes:: Yeah, but that was pretty much gen. Also? Fuck off.
(later,
miera_c reminded me of "Hot Zone," too. Dammit! Unfortunately, I cannot kill her with alcohol as I can the brain. Well, not from here, anyway.)
And that would be the most mature I would be for this evening.
Because shortly thereafter, I read a good fic that totally, totally stole my thunder on a WIP, down to the title. I'm still gonna finish it (because otherwise there will be a "Hide and Seek"-shaped gap in my collection of season one post-eps [omfg, I really plan to do them all. maniac twit]), and I don't begrudge the other fic at all, I liked it. My own fault for not finishing my thing, like, back in November. When I started it. I'm just pouty and six years old. *g*
Simultaneously, The Boy had a problem with his connection to "Magic: The Gathering Online," so we pouted together and were six together and ate Girl Scout cookies.
And then he announced, "Oh, this is a bad, bad website," and I wandered into the bedroom with much trepidation. And more cookies.
"Things Other People Accomplished When They Were Your Age," says The Boy.
"Oh, fuck," says I, and we read together.
( 31, The Boy's age )
( 29, me )
And such is one of the essential conundrums of my life that I'm not sure whether the science ones or the writing ones depress me more.
( 30, 'cause I'll be there in less than a month--no pressure )
Right. Me and the cookies are gonna go back to beta-reading now, because that makes me feel useful. Or perhaps just to bed, though I'm kinda dreading what the brain will come up with next...
