SG: Atlantis 1x14, "Sanctuary"
Note to self: stop quoting the Charles Laughton Hunchback of Notre Dame, because no one but your dad would get the reference, and he's sure as hell not reading this.
Well, buggrim buggrit, I have yet to see other commentary, so here's my fractured watched-it-on-my-laptop-over-lunch-and-am-furtively-typing-at-work thoughts.
My very first reaction was ...
slut!
That's hardly helpful, kage.
Fuck off. He is.
The chick was an Ancient. Kinda sorta saw that coming from a mile off. It doesn't help that they keep casting from the same gene pool of facial characteristics.
Zara's one of the oft-recycled Canadian genre TV actors. I think he was one of the scientists McKay calls an idiot in "Redemption." Hee! Reunion!
Speaking of Rodney, see: McKay, still in love with (fangirl). Plenty of "he's so pissed at John for the alien nookie" fodder, but even setting that aside:
"I'm always on my best behavior"-->"This is as good as it gets."
"Aren't I allowed to have intuition?" "You? No."
"I'm always discreet."
and calling John on the Kirk thing.
Bwah! Dying, dying, dying. In love, and dying. But it's a good way to go.
Also--"Can we have a moment alone?" "No" (x 5, in unison)
Heeheehahaha. Awesome.
And, dude, Teyla rocked. She actually got to say the kind of things she should have been saying all along. Plus that sly teasing of John while telling him to go for it. Very nice.
Holy fuck, Weir negotiated. With a alien. And actually seemed to know what she was doing. My god. I quite liked her this week. Even before she started up with Rodney. *g*
I think Grodin got more lines than Ford. Poor Ford. But Ford got the nice sleeveless shirt, so, I'll let it go. Though Grodin has good arms, too. It's like they know me ...
(and, did they even bring Ford back to Atlantis? seriously, did we see him at all after they got back?)
Will, of course, have to watch it a few more times to get past the "squee!" stage and into serious analysis. Okay, moderately serious analysis. Perhaps accidentally serious analysis.
Okie doke. 90 minutes left before I can go home. Back tohacking at the obligatory "Defiant One" post-ep work.

How about a scene where Sheppard got another bottle of that Athosian wine and two glasses and brings them over to McKay, for testing, as it's the newest batch they made. *weg*
